- Description:
- African-American students singing. Isaac "Ike" Williams describes plans to force Governor Robert McNair to meet with students by getting all black university students in state to march on Columbia. The original plan to march from S. C. State College in Orangeburg to Columbia had to be abandoned because organizers could not guarantee the marchers would be safe from "crackpots" on the journey. The march was likely planned during the 1967 student boycott at South Carolina State.
