- Description:
- Various interior and exterior scenes of the town jail in Prosperity, South Carolina. Night watchman Cornell Wise is interviewed. Wise claims that he was overpowered and held while several men in white robes removed a Black prisoner, Freddie Jackson, from his cell in the town jail. Jackson was then threatened and assaulted by the hooded group. Note: a WIS broadcast script indicates footage of Wise's interview was used again several days later, when it was reported that Wise and a second officer were arrested for conspiracy to commit second degree lynching.
