- Description:
- Multiple silent shots of the exterior of the Mann-Simons cottage. Outtakes of Renee Carter's intro and outro segments for the weekly show. In front of the cottage, Renee Carter offers a brief history of the home, beginning with its purchase by midwife Celia Mann, ownership through the years, purchase of the property by the Columbia Housing Authority in 1970, and the efforts that saved the cottage. Carter recounts a story that Celia Mann allowed wealthy Columbians to hide silver and china in the well next to the home during the Civil War to protect it from General Sherman.
