- Renee Carter interviews CeCe A. Byars, director and curator for the Mann-Simons cottage. The historic house, which opened as a museum in 1978, was once one of several structures on the property. It was owned by former slaves Celia Mann and Ben Delane, and remained in the same African-American family from approximately 1843 to 1970.
