- Civil rights worker and educator. Young worked for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in Atlanta in 1961. She participated in a number of civil rights demonstrations such as the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, the 1964 St. Augustine marches, and the Poor People's Campaign.
