Hughes, Billie

- Hughes was born in Pearl River County, Mississippi. He grew up in Pike County, Mississippi. After working for the railroad industry, Hughes became a Mississippi highway patrolman in 1964. He served as a trooper during the height of racial tensions in Mississippi during the sixties.
