Description
Web site with documents and images which chronicle events surrounding the Brown v. Board of Education United States Supreme Court case. The University of Michigan project began in 2003 to scan and digitize documents and photographs from the Library of Congress, the Charlotte Observer newspaper, and the Ann Arbor Public Schools in support of the Winter 2004 LSA Theme Semester, "Fulfilling the Promise of Brown," Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti Reads, and the 50th anniversary of the landmark court decision known as Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, 347 U.S. 483 (1954). Charles Ransom, Diversity Librarian, was responsible for the selection of materials., The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
