- Description:
- The press releases came as a result of a lynching in Memphis, Tennessee, and a race riot in East St. Louis. The agents state their love of their country and loyalty to it, and ask that such injustices to their race be stopped. In the second article they ask President Wilson to influence Congress to pass laws preventing the recurrence of such violence. Madam Walker is quoted in that article.
