- Description:
- Despite African-American opposition over creating a segregated school, plans were drawn up by Harrison & Turnock Architects to construct Thomas Jefferson High School, named by the Indianapolis School Board. African American citizens petitioned and succeeded in having the school named after Crispus Attucks, a former slave who was killed at the start of the American Revolution. This architectural drawing shows the front and rear elevation of the school.
