- Description:
- Members of the NAACP march in parade for Medgar Evers who was murdered just days earlier on June 12, 1963 by Byron de la Beckwith. The parade served as a memorial for Evers as well as a demonstration of solidarity among those in the civil rights movement. Both African Americans and whites participate in the march including members of the clergy. The parade is lead by one lone drummer. Many of the marchers hold posters or signs.
