A speakers bureau to inform the general public of the inhumanity and injustice inflicted on the men and women who are victims of the criminal justice system. ... 4. Legal Aid for prisoners with the help of legal aid volunteers and lawyers.” Quote from document: “Our situation here at McNeil Island remains unchanged - about 50 of us are locked in cells 24 hours a day - we’re still on what is termed as ‘segregation status’. We haven’t even been told the purported reason for being selected for punishment. This is, of course, just one more example of the sort of dehumanization that we must endure day after day. Although we have actually done nothing to justify resorting to these drastic measures taken against us, it is clear that the prison authorities intend to use the strike as an excuse to deal with all ‘undesirable’ prisoners - in other words, we will be branded as ‘agitators’.” --prisoner at McNeil Island.
