- Description:
- Announces: Orientation brochure for six political activist groups on campus. 1) “The Peace and Freedom Party is an independent, permanent radical political party, permanently separate and distinct from any other political party.” 2) “To work for UWDR you have to believe what we told the world at Nuremberg: that individuals have a duty to oppose their leaders when those leaders perpetrate monstrous crimes against humanity ... Resist!” 3) “SDS is the largest national group on the student left. It was founded as the student affiliate of the League for Industrial Democracy, a moderate left-liberal trade union oriented organization.” 4) “Formed out of Soul Search after several suggestions for white people to work in their own communities in the fight against racism, Black and White Concern organized Spring 1967. Its members realize that Racism involves not only individual attitudes, but is an integral part of every major American institution.” 5) “The Vietnam Committee, since its foundation in the Spring of 1966, has been a broadly-based single-issue organization united by its stand against the role of the United States in Vietnam.” 6) “The YSA is a national organization of young revolutionary socialists who agree that the present social system is fundamentally rotten and destructive.” Note on date: 1968 is penciled and stamped on document.
