Description:
This photograph is titled, "The Emancipator Building". In this building, Elihu Embree published America's first periodical devoted solely to topic of the abolition of slavery. The Emancipator was published in Jonesborough, Tennessee from 1820. The building housed Jacob Howard's print shop and is no longer in existance.
