- From the Miller (Michael J.) Civil Rights Collection; This document records Jules Irving's experiences while visiting Jackson, Mississippi, to help set up the Free Southern Theatre. Irving's notes record the reactions of community members to his presence in the state and his affiliation with the civil rights movement. He also gives his impressions of civil rights workers John O'Neil and Gilbert Moses, with whom he was planning the theatre project. While in Jackson, Irving spent time at Tougaloo College and describes it facilities and atmosphere.
