- Description:
- From the Miller (Michael J.) Civil Rights Collection; This document sets out plans for the 1965 Congressional challenge by the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP) that sought to unseat the five Mississippi Congressmen elected in the regular election of 1964, in which thousands of African Americans were denied the right to vote. It gives a timeline of stages for the challenge and a list of things that must be done at each step. It also gives affiliation and contact information for many civil rights workers.
