- Description:
- From the Miller (Michael J.) Civil Rights Collection; Appendix C explains the history and platform of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP), lists the executive committee members, and sets out a plan for the Congressional challenge. Appendix D lists states in which the State Democratic Conventions adopted resolutions to support the MFDP cause and gives samples of some of these resolutions. Appendix E discusses voting qualifications in Mississippi. It also gives African American voter registration statistics for each county and district. Appendix E also includes a sample "freedom ballot" that will be used in the MFDP's Freedom Election. Appendix F uses excerpts from the "Platform and Principles of the Mississippi State Democratic Party"(1960 version) and Paul B. Johnson's campaign literature to demonstrate the position of the Mississippi State Democratic Party.
