- Folder 5 of Records of the South Carolina Council on Human Relations collection contains administrative documents and general papers from 14 April 14-May 28, 1947. Many of the documents comprise of correspondence between leadership of the South Carolina Division of the Southern Regional Council (SC Division of the SRC), like Alice Norwood Spearman Wright and James McBride Dabbs. Within this folder are several letters discussing how organization funds will be used to pay Alice Norwood Spearman Wright for her work with the SC Division of the SRC. There is a document titled, "Recommendations adopted at The Annual Meeting," that lists ways in which the State Division can improve with the proposal of new committees. This folder also contains a press release on the lynching of Willie Earle in Greenville, SC, and how the case relates to issues of African American franchise (suffrage) and treatment of African Americans by law enforcement.
