- Published as part of a series of statewide seminars to speed educational improvements. This series of state education conference developed out of SEDFRE's (Scholarship, Education and Defense Fund for Racial Equality) earlier nationwide and regional seminars for minority-group school board officials. SEDFRE sponsored three one-day education seminars in 1970 that provided new experiences for black teachers, school board members, school administrators, and community leaders in joint efforts to bring about educational change for the benefit of children in the black community
