- Description:
- The news from March to June 1969 was dominated by the strike of African American workers at the Medical College in Charleston. In a letter to Reverend Leo M. Groghan, McNair explained that South Carolina's laws prohibited bargaining with unions and thus had been unable to satisfy the demands of the aggrieved workers led by Mary Moultrie.
