- Letter from Reverend J. H. Morant, Pastor of Liberty Hill African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church in Summerton, South Carolina to Joseph A. DeLaine, Sr. of Hollis, Long Island, New York, apologizing for an unspecified failure of his church as well as neighboring congregations. Morant offers DeLaine a burial plot at Liberty Hill A.M.E. Church at no cost for himself, and two plots for his sisters costing $25 each for burial.
