- Letter from James Hinton, President of the South Carolina chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), based in Columbia, South Carolina, in response to Joseph A. DeLaine, Sr.'s February 5, 1948 letter regarding the deposit of funds from the Clarendon County NAACP into the NAACP Defense Fund, the filing of bus transportation suit, Pearson v. County Board of Education (1948) and a February 27, 1948 meeting between Clarendon County School Board and African American attorney Harold Boulware.
