- Letter from Joseph A. DeLaine, Sr. of Charlotte, North Carolina, to Richard Kluger, author of Simple Justice in Ridgefield, Connecticut, with more details of the Clarendon County, South Carolina school segregation case, also known as Briggs v. Elliott. In the letter, DeLaine explains how between 1952 and 1955 he attended the United States Supreme Court hearings for the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education case without credentials.
