- Description:
- Letter from Joseph A. De Laine, Sr. (Summerton, S.C.) to Harold R. Boulware (Columbia, S.C.) re discovery that Levi Pearson lives in wrong school district and Hammit Bearson's offer to sign onto school bus transportation case [Pearson v. County Board of Education (1948)]; De Laine concedes I have gone out so far until I doubt that anything will save me as a teacher next year.... I doubt that that will stop me. It may cause me to fight harder.... I was turned down from registration because my poll tax was not put on my receipt.
