- Ten page report prepared by Isaiah DeQuincey Newman, field secretary of the South Carolina Conference of Branches, NAACP, dated May 6- June 2, 1962. The report begins with a summary of speaking engagements, travel, and correspondence; this is followed by a record of the field secretary's itinerary that itemizes work and meetings conducted on behalf of the organization for the time period May 6-June 2, 1962. Activities included in the itinerary include engagement with desegregation and voter registration efforts. The report also includes statewide updates on police brutality; a mid-year state conference; observance of the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision Brown vs. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas; fundraising; hospital desegregation; school desegregation; and civil rights demonstrations. The report ends with a hospital integration resolution drafted by the NAACP Health Committee.
