- Description:
- Four pages of handwritten sermon, dated February 10, 1980 that quotes the Biblical text Philippians 4:8 and urges Christians to to focus upon what is praiseworthy in others, and to cultivate what is virtuous within oneself. The sermon compares the quality of the diet of livestock to the quality of personal thoughts, and notes that the attributes of people's thoughts determine who they become. The sermon then states that a virtuous woman is more precious than gold, and heralds Mary McLeod Bethune as the first lady of African American people.
