Four page progress report prepared by the Economic Development Committee, dated August 5, 1983, on the designation of enterprise zones to facilitate policy and legislation that would support economic growth in South Carolina. The committee recommends continuing the study of revenue impact on enterprise zones, the monitoring of a job credit tax bill, and observing the authority for the participation of small and minority businesses located in depressed rural areas in South Carolina. The report also recommends that the South Carolina Department of Agriculture coordinate with the private rural economic development company Rural Ventures, Incorporated on small farms ventures.
