- An oral history interview by William Gravely on March 21, 1990, with Faith Clayton, the first woman appointed to the South Carolina Industrial Commission. Clayton asserts that she encountered a drunk Willie Earle while working at the local employment office (before her appointment to the SCIC) the morning before Earle allegedly robbed and murdered a taxi driver. Clayton also shares her perspective on other aspects of the robbery incident and the lynching of Willie Earle the night after it. Both a draft and final transcript of the interview are included.
