- An oral history interview by William Gravely with Mr. & Mrs. Ben Hendricks on June 9, 1989. Topics covered in the interview include the interviewees' acquaintance with members of the Earle family; personal experiences with several people and places involved in the lynching of Willie Earle; and other local race-related incidents, including court cases, legal executions, other lynchings, and the 1969 death of an African American man being held in the local jail. The interview also includes the interviewees' opinions on community awareness (or lack thereof) when such incidents took place. A draft transcript, Gravely's notes on the interview, and correspondence between Gravely and the interviewees is included.
