- An oral history interview by William Gravely with Jane Nolan Graham at her home in Columbia, South Carolina, in November of 1988. Graham was sent by UPI from Atlanta to Greenville to cover the court case surrounding the suspected members of the lynching party which murdered Willie Earle, as well as keeping an eye on what famous reporter Rebecca West observed in her own coverage of the same events. Graham shared details about her memories of Rebecca West; press events, reports, and tours given by those involved in various aspects of the case and the local political scene, including then-governor Strom Thurmond; and her impressions of the court case and those involved, from witnesses to lawyers. A final transcript of the interview is included.
