- An oral history interview by William Gravely on December 22, 1982, with John Bolt Culbertson, a former state legislator and a defense attorney in the May 1947 trial of suspected participants in the lynching of Willie Earle. Topics include Culbertson's previous life experiences, his career before and after the trial, and his opinions of the other people involved in the court case. Culbertson also recounted a rumor that Earle was homosexual, claiming that he had propositioned the taxi driver and then attacked the driver when he was rebuffed. A final transcript of the interview is included.
