- Letter from Mary Smith to Julie Cummins, regarding the incidents at the New York Public Library and the Association of Black Storytellers. She states, "I appreciate your confidence in me when you let me know that you do not hold the Association of Black Storytellers responsible. Still, I am more sorry than words can express and I offer my personal apology for what happened." She clarifies the structure of the Association and offers her part of the explanation for the events that took place, and further states that she is looking into the incident and inquiring after Dr. Mary Omolu.
