Board of Education ruling against segregated public schools invalid in South Carolina pending further study by the state. Pictured standing behind Timmerman are, from left to right, Rep. Sol Blatt, Rep. William L. Rhodes, Sen. James Hugh McFaddin, Sen. R. M. Jefferies, Sen. L. Marion Gressette, Rep. Henry L. Lake, Sen. John Williams and Rep. Joseph Rogers. Senator Gressette is chairman of the Gressette Committee that drew up the resolution.
