- Description:
- Columbia Public School superintendent Guy L. Varn, left, and other trustees consider transfer requests from Black students who wish to attend white schools in Columbia Public Schools, also known as Richland County School District 1. After evaluating the requests, the administrators and Board approved 22 students' requests to attend white schools in the city schools for the 1964-1965 school year. District 1 follows Richland County District Two, which previously approved 2 students to attend Dentsville High for the 1964-65 year.
