- In this transcript of a December 3, 1979, oral history interview conducted by Eugene Pfaff with Willa Player, Player discusses race relations in Greensboro in the 1950s and early 1960s, including the role of specific African-Americans and white citizens. She describes the participation of Bennett College students in demonstrations in 1960 and 1963, her support of students incarcerated at the polio hospital, the position of Dr. Lewis Dowdy and other area university administrators and faculty, and her participation in particular marches and boycotts.
