- Description:
- This document outlines the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) Neo-Black Society's appeal of a decision by the UNCG Student Government Association to reclassify (strip recognition and funding from) the Neo-Black Society. The grounds for the appeal were insufficient and nonfactual evidence. The decision was overturned by Chancellor James Sharbrough Ferguson, resulting in an eventual legal case leading to the Neo-Black Society's reinstatement as a recognized and funded organization. The appeal is accompanied by a handwritten note from Neo-Black Society coordinator Leon Chestnut to Ferguson announcing the appeal.
