- Description:
- These photocopies of four pages from the September 22-28, 1980 Workers Viewpoint newspaper, a publication of the Communist Workers Party (CWP), pertain to the November 3, 1979, Greensboro Massacre. The primary article included discusses a recent development in the murder trial of Ku Klux Klan (KKK) members and Nazis, allowing a videotape of the shootings to be viewed in slow motion. The CWP states that this might be construed as suggesting "equal blame" for the killings, suggesting that the victims were partially at fault. There is also an article alleging that presidential candidates Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan had condemned the KKK merely in order to get the CWP "off their backs" and a poem saluting the five CWP members killed on November 3rd.
