- Description:
- This two-page flyer is largely a statement made by Nelson Johnson, Greensboro resident and Communist Workers Party member, prior to being jailed on contempt of court charges related to initial charges of participating in a riot. Johnson was involved in the Death to the Klan march in Greensboro on November 3, 1979 where five Communist Workers Party members were killed. In his statement, Johnson also elaborates and protests the prosecution of six Ku Klux Klan members and encourages support for a federal investigation into the case. The flyer, apparently printed and distributed by the Greensboro Justice Fund in the summer of 1981, also includes suggestions and contact information for citizens, who are encouraged to become involved.
