- Description:
- In July 1970, the Program Council of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church sponsored a conference on race relations and religion held at North Carolina A&T State University. The Program Council set up black and white task forces, each of which presented position papers at the conference. UNCG Chancellor James Ferguson served on the white task force. This 13-page position paper appears to be from the black task force which included Richard C. Erwin, Reverend W.T. Brown, Dr. Issac Miller, and Mrs. Alvin Morrison (first name unknown). This copy of the paper includes Ferguson's notes and marginalia.
