- Description:
- This letter from Greensboro resident Elmer D. Yost to Governor Dan K. Moore, dated November 16, 1967, contains Yost's complaints about the controversial Black Power Forum held at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) November 1-3, 1967. Yost refers to the "black bearded leaders" as "socialistic" and "extremists" and notes that they "did everything possible to get the white girls to associate with them, and some even broke all laws of decency." He goes on to praise Lieutenant Governor Robert Scott's published statements about the forum. An editorial from the Raleigh News & Observer is attached.
