- This letter from members of the Greensboro branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)to John Conyers, chairman of the Subcommittee on Criminal Justice, of the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary, requests that the subcommittee conduct a fact-finding session on the murders of five Communist Workers Party members at the Death to the Klan march, in Greensboro, North Carolina, on November 3, 1979. The letter describes the effect the incident has had on the African American community in Greensboro, particularly after Klan/Nazi defendants prosecuted in state court were acquitted. The letter is signed by Dr. George Simkins, president, and Earl F. Jones, chair of the Legal Redress Committee. This appears to be an unsigned copy of the letter.
