- Description:
- This article by Jon Rosenblum from the April 7, 1981, edition of The Chronicle, Duke University's student newspaper, criticizes the federal government's lack of action on the November 3, 1979 murder of five Communist Workers Party members at the Death to the Klan march since ten Klansmen were acquitted of murder charges in 1980. In the article, U.S. Attorney H.M. Michaux defends the slow pace, saying that he has been working on another case and needs time to build this one. The article also discussed protests over the potential involvement or negligence of law enforcement in the massacre.
