- Description:
- The typewritten note, dated April 2, 1973, and signed "Helen", documents a conversation between University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) Dean James Allen and Student Government Association (SGA) Vice President Jackie Coleman about a possible lawsuit to be filed over the Neo-Black Society incident. On March 26, 1973, SGA voted to reclassify (removed funding and recognition from) the Neo-Black Society. The SGA decision was overturned by university administration, resulting in an eventual legal case that led to the Neo-Black Society's reinstatement as a recognized and funded organization.
