- Description:
- This is a note of statements apparently made by University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) Chancellor James Sharbrough Ferguson to Frank Pleasants of the Greensboro Record on November 15, 1967. The comments concern the controversial Black Power Forum held November 1-3 at UNCG and state Ferguson's belief that the forum was an educational experience and that the Black Power movement "cannot be wished away simply because it is controversial." After publication, Ferguson received several letters of complaint and of support.
