- Description:
- This June 10, 1982, article by Larry King of the Greensboro Daily News reports on testimony before a federal grand jury investigating possible civil rights violations related to the murders of five Communist Workers Party members at the Death to the Klan march in Greensboro, North Carolina, on November 3, 1979, by several Ku Klux Klan members involved in the incident. The Klan members James Jerry Hatcher, Glenn Miller, Joe Grady, and one unidentified man discussed events leading up to the incident. Hatcher stated that his car left as soon as shots were fired, and also that Nazi leader Howard Covington had discouraged them from bringing weapons. Miller berated the grand jury and the Justice Department for conducting the investigation.
