- This article by Lolita M. Rhodes appeared in the November 11, 1984 Greensboro News & Record and is a first person account of the subtle racism and bad treatment still faced by blacks in Greensboro, particularly in customer service situations. The writer concludes that she has managed to cope by lowering her expectations. This article was clipped and saved in a scrapbook on race relations by Clarence "Curly" Harris, manager of the Greensboro Woolworth store at the time of the 1960 sit-ins that spawned lunch counter sit-ins across the South and rejuvenated the civil rights movement.
