- Description:
- In this February 4, 1973 Greensboro Daily News article, Harvey Harris reports on how the four original participants of the 1960 sit-ins at the Greensboro Woolworth's lunch counter — Frank McCain, David Richmond, Jibreel Khazan (formerly Ezell Blair, Jr.) and Joe McNeil return to the lunch counter thirteen years later to take part in an upcoming ABC News telecast entitled, Whatever Happened to the Greensboro 4. The four explain that the idea to sit-in came from the young men daring each other during a campus bull session at North Carolina A&T State University, where they all attended college. The article details where the four were currently: all four were in their early 30s at this time. The men also express disappointed that the civil rights movement appeared to be going downhill. This article was clipped and saved in a scrapbook on race relations by Clarence "Curly" Harris, manager of the Greensboro Woolworth store at the time of the 1960 sit-ins.
