- This article by Lex Alexander appeared in the June 25, 1989 Greensboro News & Record, and reflects concerns within Greensboro's African American community that important aspects of the civil rights movement and of segregation were being forgotten even in light of the coming thirtieth anniversary celebration commemorating the 1960 Greensboro sit-ins. The article also discusses the lack of written documentation of the movement and of the sit-ins and suggests that Greensboro should have promoted the historical significance event more fully. This article was clipped and saved in a scrapbook by Clarence "Curly" Harris, manager of the Greensboro Woolworth store at the time of the 1960 sit-ins.
