- This February 5, 1990 article published in the Greensboro News & Record reports on the reaction of Greenboro City Council member Earl Jones and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) to a January 26, 1990, incident at Page High School which resulted in a walkout by African American students. In light of allegations that black students were underrepresented in school activities Jones suggested that boycotts might be an appropriate response. Prior to the walkout, the school newspaper had published the results of a racial sensitivity study containing anonymous and stereotypical comments about minority students, prompting the walkout and cancellation of afternoon classes at Page. This article was clipped and saved in a scrapbook on Greensboro race relations by Clarence "Curly" Harris, manager of the Greensboro Woolworth store at the time of the 1960 sit-ins.
