- Greensboro News & Record editorial columnist Giles Lambertson wrote a series of columns in 1985 that drew the ire of Clarence Harris, who had worked as the manager of the Greensboro Woolworth store at the time of the 1960 sit-ins. The three columns by Lamberson were part of a series titled "The Woolworth Story " and focuses on the actions of Harris and Woolworth administration. These editorials were clipped and saved in a scrapbook by Clarence "Curly" Harris. Also included are Harris? handwritten notes refuting several points made by Lambertson including Lambertson's suggestion that segregation went against the true philosophy of the protestant church; Harris argues that laws force integration and integration and civil rights laws do not apply in private associations. Harris disputes several other points such as the purpose of the lunch counter, Harris? loyalty to the corporation, profit motives related to segregation.
