- Description:
- Images in the 1956 Guilford College yearbook, The Quaker, highlight both the continued presence of international students and in a rare candid photograph, the presence of an African-American staff on campus. Students include Asian American Wako Yokoyama, Yoon Tuk Kim, Thi Thanh Mai Vu. On the page devoted to the Monogram Club, an independent student organization, a social function called the KKK (Klub Kampus Kuties)is described. A rare page devoted to service staff depicts numerous Asian American waiters and African American cook, King David, thus reflecting the reality of racially diverse staff as a part of the campus community.
